Propafenone (“Rythmol SR or Rytmonorm”)

On March 23, 2009, Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced a nationwide recall of Propafenone HCL 225mg Tablets sold in 100 count bottles. Some tablets may contain higher levels of the active ingredient than specified.

The specific lot number that is subject to the recall is 112680A and had an expiration date of July 3, 2010. They were shipped to customers between October 15, 2008 and November 26, 2008. If you have a bottle of 225mg Propafenone HCL tablets, check the bottle for the lot number and expiration date.

Due to the increased active ingredient, the tablets may produce side effects such as arrhythmias (irregular heart beat) or low blood pressure.

If you ingested any tablets from this lot and experienced adverse side-effects that required hospitalization, contact us for a free legal consultation. You can call us toll free at: (800) 351-8588 or e-mail us by clicking here and filling out the contact us form.
