Mirena IUD Investigation
Capretz & Associates is reviewing potential legal claims on behalf of women who have experienced serious problems with the Mirena IUD (intra-uterine device) birth control device.
The Mirena IUD is manufactured by Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals and was approved for use by the FDA in 2000 as a form of birth control. The Mirena IUD is inserted in the uterus by a physician and is designed to release a synthethic progestogen to prevent pregnancy. It is estimated that over 2 million women in the United States use the Mirena IUD.
Our lawyers are now investigating claims that the Mirena IUD may migrate and perforate the uterus. This can result in the device becoming lodged in the abdominal cavity and/or possibly perforating other organs (i.e., liver, spleen, bowel, etc.).
